One of the powerful functions inside the Diablosport tuners are the ability to datalog several data channels inside your factory PCM (called a “PID”, in the datalogging screen.) You can use datalogs to monitor performance as well as helping to diagnose issues.
This user’s video shows the basics of datalogging.

There are channels to log in the factory PCM that are more helpful than others. Select these PIDS in the “PID Select” screen.
- Throttle Position
- Engine RPM
- Coolant Temperature
- Vehicle Speed
- Knock control (for sensing fuel ping events)
- MAP/Baro (This is the MAP sensor, for sensing vacuum + boost)
- Short term fuel trim
- Long term fuel trim
The more PIDS you add, the less resolution you get from the log. There is no need to overload the screen and log absolutely everything for basic diagnosis.
If you find a problem that is repeatable, then you can “catch it in the act”. If you have a particular road or time that a check engine light occurs every time, then you can be prepared to catch it with a datalog.
The most common issue we see with tech support on the tuner box is that the user simply fails to load the tune correctly. If your dash lights up with the throttle control, ESP, check engine light, and can barely get out of its own way—then the tune probably is not installed correctly. You will see a P0129 engine code, too.
The number one rule of working with your tuner box is to not get impatient with it. Modern OBD ports still have baud rates slower than dial-up modems from the 90s. Every tune goes in and out of the vehicle 1 byte at a time, and must be allowed time to do so. That being said, make sure you have a good battery and good connections. If your voltage drops too far during the install, then the PCM tuning will be incomplete. It can take 20-30 minutes to upload a tune.
